The program has been developed with the assistance of members of local and international program committees. These members have extensive expertise in a wide range of blood pressure-related topics, ranging from epidemiology and clinical research through to mechanistic studies. Keynote and plenary presentations on novel approaches for identifying and treating hypertension and related cardiovascular disease, recent advances in our understanding the pathogenesis of hypertension, as well as population studies and systems biology will be delivered. Stroke and diabetes will be just two of the recurring themes that will be discussed in presentations throughout the meeting.

In addition to offering a wide-ranging program, the meeting will provide opportunities for young investigators to present their latest work during the poster sessions, the mini-oral poster sessions and the e-poster sessions. Young investigators will also be eligible for a number of awards based on scientific merit. Travel awards are available.

The meeting will feature something for everyone, from the practicing clinician, to the clinical researcher through to basic scientists studying the biology of different aspects of blood pressure and cardiovascular diseases. Given the speed with which the entire field is evolving, and given the increased cardiovascular risk associated with a number of pathologies that are currently reaching epidemic proportions, the broad scope of this meeting will provide ample opportunities for everyone to expand their current knowledge base.

Practicing physicians and clinical researchers involved in the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of high blood pressure, cardiovascular, and metabolic diseases and disorders, basic scientists, epidemiologists, nutritionists, genetics, public health specialists, general practitioners and other health care professionals.

This activity is being planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME). Further details will be provided in a timely manner.

Full notification of commercial support will be provided in the Final Program.
